SAGINAW, MI. – Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) toured Central Michigan University (CMU) College of Medicine on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, in Saginaw. During the visit, Kildee received a tour of the new facility and have lunch with medical students.
The CMU College of Medicine welcomed its first class of students in August 2013 and prepares CMU medical students to serve rural and medically underserved regions. CMU students spend their third and fourth years of medical school at the Saginaw campus to gain hands-on experience working in the community. The CMU College of Medicines’ inaugural class of students graduated in May. All 62 new physicians were successfully matched to residency programs, which began in July 2017.
